Report: Poland denies simple entry to Russia’s Kaliningrad citizens
MOSCOW, Aug 3 (PRIME) -- Poland has refused to restart simplified cross-border travel procedures for people living in Russia’s exclave Kaliningrad Region, Deputy Interior Minister Jaroslaw Zielinski told Radio ZET in an interview broadcast on Wednesday.
“Russia has not eliminated the reasons connected with our safety, which were the grounds to limit the cross-border traffic,” Zielinski said.
Warsaw unilaterally abolished the simplified mode for Russians living near its borders on July 4, explaining the move with a need to ensure an additional safety during a NATO summit from July 8 till July 9 and with celebration of the Youth Day later in July. Moscow imposed retaliatory measures.
